Solutions : Inventory Manager
Improve sales performance through precision in inventory management
Designed and built specifically for the inventory management and user targeting challenges of digital media, Rapt Inventory Manager delivers on three critical fronts: prediction, planning, and reporting. Ultimately, an organization is provided with a clearer picture of their sales opportunity, preventing the opportunity cost of under-selling and mitigating the risk of revenue loss that stems from under-delivery.
Inventory Manager delivers an accurate and precise view into short- and long-term inventory supply that is sensitive to seasonal dynamics, hierarchical relationships within the product set, and overlapping relationships of demographic, geographic, and behavioral targeting attributes. Further, users are provided with the facility to manipulate those forecasts based on facts otherwise unavailable to the analytic engine. For example, when a new section is launched, a user can pre-populate this new section with inventory based on a similar section's traffic levels and audience composition. Similarly, if a promotional effort is expected to increase inventory levels within a section of a site or network, a user can isolate certain products and override the system-generated levels to reflect the expected traffic spike.
Finally, Inventory Manager reconciles the forward-looking view of capacity, the product of the forecasts, adjustments, and overrides, with all inventory bookings captured within the order management system. This allocation model anticipates the likely behavior of the delivery engine, considering overlapping flight dates, differing delivery priorities, eCPM rankings, and other factors. From this reconciliation, Inventory Manager calculates avails, providing a turnkey, self-serve reporting solution to support the inventory clearance activity of operations and the outbound proposal activity of the sales team.
About our technology
The analytic IP within Inventory Manager is a hybridization of time series prediction techniques, statistical learning algorithms, and proprietary algorithms for inventory allocation. The single largest challenge in forecasting inventory in digital media is the disruptions in impression volumes caused by content programming, site hierarchy changes, and certain external events. Inventory Manager has a sophisticated feature detection library that detects and erases these change points while still retaining local effects from various types of seasonality (day of week, day of year, month of year, etc.) that exist in the data due to organic traffic trends across the site hierarchy.
Drawing on Rapt's proprietary algorithms, analytic technology, and extensive experience in media, Inventory Manager sets a new standard for inventory forecasting, management, and planning for the dynamic digital media marketplace.
For five years, this has been the number one unresolved problem for publishers. And it's only getting worse as market demand grows and more sites face consistent sell-outs.
