San Francisco, California — October 17, 2005 — Rapt Inc., the leading provider of pricing and profitability management software applications and services, today announced that the company named Ben Crain as its new vice president of Media Business Development. Crain brings more than a decade of industry specific expertise to Rapt's growing media and entertainment business.

In this newly created role, Crain will be responsible for further expanding Rapt's presence within the media and entertainment industries.

"The leadership and experience that Ben brings to Rapt will be an invaluable asset to Rapt's growing media and entertainment business," said Xavier Zang, Executive Vice President, Field Operations. "He understands key business issues for media companies and his proven track record of leading high performance teams and driving sales make him the ideal candidate to drive our media business."

Prior to joining Rapt, Crain spent 8 years with Microsoft Corp. Crain began his career with Turner Broadcasting Systems in Atlanta and New York where he held a variety of sales, inventory management and client service roles.

Rapt already has significant legs in the online media industry with expanding software operations at both Yahoo! and MSN. In a recent report titled "How to Select the Right B2B Price Management Vendor", author Laura Preslan, Vice President of Research at AMR, noted that in the field of pricing management, Rapt "has a lockdown in online media based on work done with MSN and Yahoo!
